Delivering Operational Excellence at Northern Rock

Following the Nationalisation of Northern Rock, Lean Consulting were engaged in 2009 and perform a diagnostic on the organisation and identify the potential opportunities available to reduce costs.

Lean Consulting completed a process & performance diagnostic of the entire company (all functions) and determined a potential cost reduction available to Northern Rock if they implemented a Lean Operational Excellence programme. We also delivered an Operational Excellence pilot which delivered £1.1M of saving in under 3 months.

Lean Consulting successfully delivered a total reduction in the resourcing of 393.5 FTE against a target reduction of 305 FTE. This delivered an annualised cost saving of £9.51M to the business – delivered on budget and on time.
